I had set an alarm for 9am since we
were all tired from the 2 day journey and we deserved to take some rest to be
able to work & explore the region in our time at BIR ahead but we were up
early, even before the alarm went off!
We opened up all the windows of our room and let the morning sun along with the cool breeze in. What stole our heart was the clear view of the place from our window which we coudnt enjoy in the dark at night – it overlook the magnificent mountains and a lot of greens.

Its so nice to snuggle in the blanket even after waking up - lazy I am :) |
Hungry we were – We ordered breakfast which was going to take 30 minutes to prepare. While waiting for breakfast we spent some time in the balcony admiring the beautiful white stupa right below our guest house. The breakfast was served in courtyard - green grass under colorful umbrellas & from where we had a direct view of the Stupa. That’s where we saw our ‘first Buddhist monk’ :).
The breakfast was good – some aaloo parathas (yes there are always parathas in each of our meals – thanks to Sahil the khoonkhaar Punjabi munda), veg cheese grill, sweet chai, honey toast, cheese toast & butter toast.

Thanda thanda paani – Now, how do we
take a bath with freezing water in a pahadi ilaaka?? :( We were promised hot water through
the solar heater but it was 11.30am, the sun was bright but still there wasn’t
any hot water! Okay, finally it did come & all of us enjoyed a hot shower.
Though we enjoyed the whole morning
doing silly things & appreciating views from our windows and balcony, we
had to understand that we were not here to stay inside our hotel rooms and
there was much more to do outside! So finally at 1.30pm we left our rooms and
walked to our first destination – the Deer Park Institute.
