The initial thought...

The whole idea of documenting crafts has always fascinated me. I have always felt that this is something that interests me. The idea of working at the grass root level to understand the rich art and craft, preserve and promote is something that I know I would love to do.

...so when the discussions about the Craft Documentation project began, the first thing that came to my mind was that I not only wanted to document crafts but also explore a new place and culture. Now that I had already traveled the South of India during my Internship, I decided that I wanted to go North or North-East. Next thing that was clear in my mind was that I wanted to learn more about Buddhism and I wanted this process of craft documentation to give me an exposure to Buddhism.

Hiten & I were a natural team. There was no discussion who my team mate would be. We always have been a team :)
Hiten - my friend who makes my life an animation :)

We learn from each other. Hiten has taught me to think with a free mind. He has taught me to fly, to fly again! After working for about 5 years I had become utterly practical. Being practical while pursuing post-grad in design was good & helpful but I always felt that the freedom I had in my heart & mind during my graduation was missing and thats what Hiten helped me achieve.
Did he want to go somewhere else for the project? Nahhh! He did not mind going anywhere with me but he too wanted to explore and experience Buddhism. Natural buddies we are :)
